23/24/25 Aug - Bank Holiday at Hayton Farm, Sellindge, Kent - Flyball comp. Tosca came 3rd and Milly came 1st! We bought, off eBay, a Trailer Tent for £370! Absolute bargain and quite suitable for a few days away. Comes loaded with all you could want - king size double beds/kitchen/loo etc . Am I middle aged or what? !! For Flyball, when in a farmers field, it is perfect.
15th Aug - Milly took part in the British Flyball Championships near Warwick. Great day and we came 5th. BBC TV cameras were there on saturday and fimed for The One Show.
10th Aug - Tosca ran her very first Flyball Starters competion in the Brimblecombe Babies team and the team came 1st!
8th Aug - Added Anglesey to the Gallery
25th - 31st July - A great week at the week-long Flyball Competition in Anglesey and rosettes all round for the teams.
Whilst I was at the luxury end of the camping scenario ("luxury" being a relative term), it was only due to the kindness of members of the Bristol team that I was able to get the caravan up and running with a charged battery, and hot water etc). Caravanning has its own challenges!
The weather threw all 4 seasons at us - fantastically hot days and very wet and windy nights. Matt's toilet tent blew down - good job no one was sitting in it at the time!, Rob's day-tent ended up in the fence, Dawn and Darren had a flood in the front parlour.
The island scenery was simply beautiful. Some of the best beaches you are likely to find in the UK - all of them pretty much deserted. Thanks to Keren and Jeff, the dogs were worn out by ball throwing into the sea - they had so much fun. Milly was distracted by trying to chase a kite - clearly a brain cell lost there somewhere!
Little Amber taught Milly and Tosca to escape under the fencing at Fort Hughes. Sly little thing ;-) Diesel seemed more ball mad than Tosca! Tosca decided that football was much more fun and became part of Fiona's childrens footie team! Star looked as relaxed as I have ever seen. Jake thought the squeeky toys were great and played all day with them. Belle got so excited on the first Flyball racing, I thought she was going to explode.
The racing was pretty close the whole time IMHO. Milly performed much better and re-affirmed my faith in her. I took part in the Ring Party as the start line judging for the first time. Wow! Its incredibly exciting!. Thanks to Derek and Paul for showing me what to do. All 4 dogs crossing at the same time in front of you makes the earth tremble.
Eryl's entertainment got the whole crowd dancing (apart from me as I have 2 left feet). The weather was cool that evening but she managed to heat it up a bit. And then the heavens opened! And did it rain!
And how welcome was that hot bath when we got home!
28/29th June - A great weekend doing Flyball demos at the Hurst Country Show. Raised a lot of awareness for the Animal Rescue Centre - DBARC and Flyball in general. The crowds loved it!
21st June - Tosca was awesome today at Flyball. She is even better than Milly!
21st June - Pleasant evening with friends. I made a world-class special Lasagne (with extra added bite!)
13th June - Sold an unused radiator on eBay for £200! Yippee!!
13th June - Added pic of Tosca at 8 months old to menu Tosca
10th June - The new iPhone 2.0 was announced yesterday. Guess I will be upgrading when it is released July 11th!
24th May - Took part in the Flyball competition at Frimley. Milly was in the Brimblecombe Rescuers Team and the team came 3rd! The weather was perfect and a great day was had by all.
